Selling Preloaded Gift Cards

We are thinking of selling gift cards at our merchandise stand.  Our merchandise stand currently does not have Tessitura so these gift cards would have to be preloaded with the amounts which means they would have to be presold in Tessitura.  Is anyone currently selling preloaded gift cards at remote locations that do not have Tessitura?  And if so how have you set this up?  I would appreciate any feed back that you may have.  Thank you.

  • The Science Museum sells gift cards but they are not preloaded amounts. We load whatever value the visitor requests on the pre-numbered, mag-striped cards via a secure web connection (call center) or hypercomm (box office) to our credit card processor, and enter them into Tessitura as a Payment Method. Our credit card processor keeps the accounts (and charges a fee for the service), but it enables our patrons to use the cards at our parking ramp and store (neither of which is on Tessitura) and also at our third, party food vendor (also not on Tessitura). I’d be happy to talk more about the details (651)221-2527 or via e-mail. I always like to proselytize about this topic!
