Access Performances - Headset inventory

Hi

I'm looking at ways in setting up a headset inventory for our audio-described performances.  To make life easier for the Box Office (also to make sure they are booking the headsets), I've set up an "Access" package with the AD performances in one group and the headsets in another.

What I am struggling with is that I want to be able to booked as many headsets as required, with a minimum of 1 h/s and a maximum of the number of tickets booked.  For example, I've booked 4 tickets for a show but only require 1 headset.  A package will allow me to book the 4 tickets but also wants book 4 headsets. Does anyone know of a way around this or a better way of managing this via Tessitura.

I would also like them to be able to book multiple AD performances, along with the required headsets.  Would I have to created separate packages for each performance?

We're on version 11.

Many thanks

  • Lee-Anne,

I just went through some testing with Packages here and in reading the documentation, I did note where it said at the very beginning that "All packages require that the same number of seats be sold for each performance in the package", so I don't think you can use packages for what you've described.

We offer reserved AD headsets for specific performances and hearing receivers for every performance and have just created them as a separate performance on the same day and time as the performance they apply to. Our reps can easily add as many headsets as the patron requires for each performance.

I totally skimmed over that sentence in the documentation, despite reading it many times!

We might end up doing the same as you and have a matching headset "performance"  for the AD shows.  It will be far easier for the Box Office to process rather than have them book a package for the headset user only.  Ideally it would have been nice to have a package which prompted them to book the headset.

  • Hi Lee-Anne,

You might want to check out Brooke Gallagher's presentation on how the National Theatre track headset requests from the Extraordinary Uses of Tessitura presentation at TLCC2014.  The Powerpoints are here

They've repurposed some of the 'Special Requests' screen in the ticketing order, which seems like a pretty smart solution (though it might not be exactly what you're looking for).

  • Hi Grae

Our FoH Manager loved this idea and is keen to implement it.  However, excuse me for being so dim, how to do I relabelled this screen?  I've searched the help system and have scanned through all the tables and can't find anything remotely relevant.

    Very many thanks
