TRBO

We are interested in implementing TRBO for roaming membership and ticket sales. Is anyone already using TRBO for this purpose? If so, are you using the recommended Motorola ET1 tablet, or a compatible Android tablet? What was the implementation and installation process like with either of these devices at your institution?

Thank you,

Carolyn Brown

  • Hi Carolyn,

We have been attempting to use TBROs for ticket sales and membership for a few months and have been unsuccessful. We are using the recommended Motorola tablets. The installation process was confusing to say the least. The last update (12.5.1) and adding firmware was supposed to fix the issues that we ran into, but alas we are still unable to complete an order with them. If you would like to talk about it in more detail I'd be happy to!

    Thank you,

  • We've managed to get the TRBO app up and running successfully on some super cheap Dragon Touch tablets.  The documentation on the setup could be a little better.    The tablets use API calls, so you'd have to make sure that you have IP address access set correctly for the API - this can be a little tricky if you are a RAMP client.

  • Hi Jessica,

Yes, we discovered that if you put the patron’s email on the Checkout page, there is a box to check on the signature page to send the receipt. It works quite well. We don’t really want to purchase the receipt printer if we don’t have to.

    Hi Susan,

Were you able to get set up to send electronic receipts via email in place of purchasing a receipt printer?

    Thanks,

    Jessica

    Hi All,

We are going to be selling our Gift Shop items using TRBO. I know you can purchase a Zebra receipt printer, but I've been asked if we can email the receipt to the purchaser. Has anyone done this? We did not plan to book the sale under the patron's name either, just under a general Gift Shop constituent. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Susan
