Comp offer for members - how to track?

We are doing something next season where any membership holder of a certain level and up will be offered four free tickets to any of a season-long series of performances.

We will not be fulfilling this online, so that makes things a little easier, but I am unsure of the best way to track this in the database. The closest thing I see to built-in functionality I believe is the N-Scan Limits settings on each membership level, but we do not use N-Scan. (We are on 12.1.2 and will be upgrading to 12.5 imminently.)

Any ideas or experiences to share from box offices that have had to accommodate this kind of thing before?

    We have some custom tables to help track this stuff. You load in how many tickets people get, and the tables/procedures decrement from the total when you sell the appropriate product.

    However, there's also the less technical version, which is to load up an attribute for the comps, with a value that represents how many comps the customer still has available. Display that attribute value in the ticketing header, and your reps can see who has tickets. They just have to make sure to go into the attributes tab and decrement the count when they sell against the comps. This is how we manage the free tickets that our staff get.

    There is a Manage Attributes Utility that you can use to add an attribute to a list of people and/or update the value on that attribute. So you just make a list of the correct member levels and add the attribute. Then you'd have to make sure to either run that occasionally or have someone manually add the attribute when new people join at the appropriate levels.
