Hi all,
Am wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and found a solution…
We have one particular BOCA (Lemur-S), that will suddenly not work correctly from some computers. The BOCA is used by 4 users/pc machines. When 3 of the users print tickets/headers/receipts, they come out the printer blank. But when the 4th user prints, they print out fine (have tried the same orders and different orders, and none of the ticket designs are blank).
The 3 users who are printing blank to this BOCA, can print to other BOCAs elsewhere in the building- and they print out fine. If these 3 users log into the 4th machine, they can also print fine.
The BOCA is connected to the 4th user’s machine and is shared with the other 3 machines. If no tickets were coming out at all, we would presume that it was a connection type error, but the fact that blank tickets are coming out, seems a bit odd.
Would love to hear any ideas if you’ve had something similar happen!
Thanks,Alison
Hi Alison,
Please review the printer properties for this Boca on the workstations that are not printing properly, and make sure that they match the properties of the one that is.
On the Advanced tab of the properties, confirm that the driver is using Generic/Text, and under Print Processor... that winprint and RAW are selected.
At FTC we had numerous problems printing over the network like this. The most fool proof setup I have found was to use a network LPT or USB interface (TP LINK sells these for ~$50) and AD deployment with direct to printer spooling.
As far as the immediate problem it sounds like it may not be printing the tickets as Text to the printer from the network. The settings in question are most likely on the 4th machine. I would compare the settings on this machine's BOCA to the other printers in the buliding.
Hi All,
We are having a similar issue with one of our Boca lemur S printers. Its only 1 of our front line workstations. What happens is 4 blank tickets come out and then the actual ticket/receipt. Whats strange is that this only happens randomly and only with EMV transactions.
I've checked the settings and they seem to match all the other machines. Im wondering if it conflicting with the USB ports during printing since both the EMV and Boca printer are hooked up using USB.

I would check to make sure nothing is being sent to the printer inbetween prints. Sometimes they will queue up pages and only print when it's sent proper commands. for a new page.
Easiest way I can think of to do this is to check off "Keep printed documents" in the Printer's properties.
You can attempt to "Restart" the documents in order to recreate the issue, if the problem is apparent then it's most likely being sent bad commands by some program on the computer. If not it may be something along the lines of what you mentioned
