I feel like what I am looking for is right here, I just can't see it;
We are selling tickets for a series of events, but we do not want tickets for this series. How do I turn off "ticketed'? The series can not be set up as an Elevated Event and if I create another MOS, so I can turn off 'ticketed' I am assuming we need an online promo code to switch the MOS.
Any other suggestions, thoughts?

Hmmm. Could you just set them up as normal, ticketed events are untick the “Printing” checkbox on the MOS? You could use a GA facility to sell the required number of tickets, but the tickets will never be issued. Does that solve it or help in any way? Over have I completely misunderstood the problem…?! Could you just put a blank ticket design against the price types in those perfs/events? The ticket then doesn't print. We've done that before (although there may be other settings which I can't remember off the top of my head!).

You can just uncheck the Printing box on each MOS on each performance that you don't want the tickets to print for.
Alternatively, you can create a NULL printer to print them to so that the SLI status shows as Ticketed/Paid.
