Moving Audience Best Practice?

Hi everyone:

Our cabaret space that is already on sale with single and subscription tickets has just been made larger and with a layout that differs enough that I cannot simply add more tables and seats to the existing facility.  Table number and hence, seat numbers printed on tickets are changing as well.

What's best practice with this?  I can't see using move audience because I'm not moving to a facility that's a mirror image but a different date.

My solution:

Create new facility

Create new shows on the same date changing the description slightly to identify the show we're moving to.

Exchange all tickets to the newly created shows that have the new facility.

Would love to hear thoughts / experiences from anyone who has done this already.

Thank you!

  • This is what I did (several times) in a past life.  It's the cleanest way to approach it.  Send an email before mailing out the tickets to alert patrons about the change and to expect the new tickets in the mail (or email if you use PAH).
