Selling special discount seats online

We have one performance of a production where sun is an issue (outdoor performance), and we want to sell the tickets at a discount online but with a strong disclaimer on the heat/visibility issues.

We want to use a promo code to restrict access to these seats, is there a way to do this where the seats are visible when using the promo code but unavailable without? Currently they pop up without the promo code, show a value of zero, but fails when trying to add it to the cart.

  • Hi Brian,

Can you add those seats to an allocation and then assign the promo code/MOS to those seats?

That way when people enter the code the seats in the allocation would become visable to people?  Without entering the code the seats would just look like they're unavailable to people as they aren't in that allocation/MOS.

  • Thanks James! Question - can I apply an allocation to just one performance? I'm trying to add it in season maintenance but the allocation won't apply when I save it.

Edited: oops, I kept clicking "Apply" after saving and undid my own work. All good now.

  • Hi All:
We have a somewhat similar issue wherein specific seats are fine for one production, but partially obstructed for another.

At one point, Tessitura had plans to have seat types be assignable by production or performances, for this exact use. Somewhere it fell off the roadmap.

It sure would be great if it was back on the docket.  I'm planning to voice this at the conference and hope others might, also.

    Thanks,

    Mark
