We are fairly new to Tessitura and we are having an issue with offering a discount card for an upcoming festival.
We need to sell a discount card (membership) that allows patrons to receive a discount on their tickets. This has to be available online, over the phone and in person. We've setup up a MOS and it works if the clerks change their MOS but they still have to check if the patron had purchased a discount card. We can't get it to work online.
Has anyone setup a similar discount? We are on v12.1 and apparently v12.5 will be able to offer this facility but probably not in the time frame we require it.
If anyone can offer some advise I would be most grateful.
Thanks, Eleanor
Thank you, I'll investigate that. We're due to upgrade to v12.5 soon so it hoping it will be sorted in time.
Eleanor
Hi Eleanor
Did you get this sorted? We have a membership scheme running and have web ranking set up for different levels of our memberships that changes the Mode of Sale for a customer when they log in and offers them a reduced price. It doesn't auto discount like V12.5 but instead makes a reduced price available.
If you want any more information just let me know.
Nicola
Thanks Nicola for getting back to me. No we've not got it sorted and Tessitura are saying we would need to upgrade to v12.5 for it to work!
I think our problem is that we want to sell the membership online and for the patron to then qualify for the discount. We won't know who these people are in advance either. Is this how you sell your membership?
I've set up the membership and a web rank but didn't actually get it to work! Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I'm not sure if this will work for you as it will depend on the exact science of what you want to do.
Currently we sell a membership to a customer online and when they purchase they create a login. When the customer logins in online Tessitura recognises that they have a membership contribution (or you can can do it via constituency or other trigger) and changes the Mode of Sale (which has been set up via the web ranking). When they have logged in and the MOS has switched it allows different price types to become available for events where they are setup. So the discount is built into the pricing.
On our old online ticketing path a customer would need to purchase their membership online and then log out and purchase tickets in a separate transaction however we now have TNEW and have code written in that means that TNEW recognises when there is a membership in the basket and makes the membership ticket prices available to the customer. If the customer removes the membership from their basket then the tickets at the membership rate are also removed.
We are just creating a new free membership for under 26s and are working on the same principal as above and the MOS switch will be triggered by a constituency as we need it to have an end date attached.
