POS Recommendations

At TLCC 2017, I happened to be sitting at a table with Jack Rubin eating lunch and he mentioned that they were hoping to role out a POS system for Gift Shops called SalesView that runs on an IPAD and integrates with Tessitura. He said they were hoping to roll it out in about 4-5 months. It has been about 2 months since the TLCC, so roughly another 2-3 months from now.

Hi all.  Hot topic for sure.  Yes, we are working to finalize business alliances with one or more POS systems with an integration of core functionality (recognize membership or subscriber #, push merchandise transactions to Tessitura, and respect gift certificate credits) via an API integration.  SalesVu is one that we are in deep discussions with.   While we have done custom POS integrations to multiple systems, it will be good to have a core, recommended system(s) as an alliance partner in the Tessitura ecosystem.  SalesVu is one that does both merchandise, and food and beverage and they are in use at one or more Tessitura-powered organizations.   So, if you can hold off for a few weeks, we will communicate ecosystem partner additions and details as soon as we have them.  A POS API toolkit has already been done by the Network and the chosen partner(s) will need a bit of time to finalize from their side.  The functionality for the integration was done via multiple discussions with a large number of license holders.

Jack -- This is great news.  Great Performances, who do our food and bev for Dizzy's, are thinking about changing their POS system.  Now that they are integrated with our Tessitura instance we were hoping that we could integrate their POS with Tessitura.  I will keep my eyes out for any updates.

Hi all! Team Tessitura has been making a lot of progress in this space so let me provide a bit of an update. We are currently in development of integrations to two in-store POS systems: SalesVu and Shopify. Both integrations will feature three points of integration: customer record lookup (with membership discount validation), Tessitura gift certificate validation and redemption, and POS purchase history data passed and housed in Tessitura. We are still in the development phase and we are on target to have both integrations available by Q3 2018. If you're going to be at TLCC, I encourage you to come see them in action in the Solution Center! We have entered into a strategic alliance with SalesVu (https://www.salesvu.com/) and have negotiated preferred pricing for all members of the Tessitura Network. Shopify pricing can be found on their website: https://www.shopify.com/pos Additional pricing regarding installation of both integrations will be announced soon. SalesVu and Shopify functionality vary as to how they handle retail and food/beverage sales so I encourage you to compare them based upon your organization’s needs.
