Are there any issues with having a season start date that does not match up to Fiscal Year dates?
eg, 2015 Season Start 1/9/2014 (when sales open for the season) end 31/12/2015
2015 Fiscal Season from 1/1/2015 to 31/12/2015
Hi Sarah
Some UCSS seasons run April-March (to match the standard tourism year for planning purposes), so they don't match their fiscal year dates at all, so I don't think you'll have a problem.
OTOH, our seasons run 1/1 - 31/12, although we start selling them about the middle of August the year before, so I don't think you'd need to set the season dates to match on-sales either...?

All of the Sydney Opera House Presents seasons run according to calendar year but for much of our reporting we use fiscal years. This works OK but makes it necessary to clarify if a reporting request is for CY or FY and if it is FY it requires an extra layer of performance date range to define the scope since seasons are rendered useless in this case. This sometimes creates extra work but is do-able. We are currently exploring alternate ways give our events secondary groupings to work around only having one season per event.

Thanks Ken & Chuck. The main reason for the question is the default order range dates in the Order Search screen. I was contemplating whether a season start date that matches the on-sale date might be better than the current work around we have of keeping an old season active so that the search defaults capture all orders in the current season without users having to reset them.
