Good Afternoon,
Does anyone know of any subscription reports that use order category as criteria? Or any reports that use the Subscription Summary as criteria? How about a report that will even print the order category in the result set? We are trying to use order category and Subscription Summary status or type to further segregate subscription orders but can't find anything that will allow us to find the people who have information in those categories.
Thanks in advance,
Elizabeth Carlock

We use order category and sub summary type/status extensively during our season campaigns.
I do not believe that there are any canned reports that use them as criteria. However, we use them to build lists and then use those lists in the reports (e.g. subscription galley, package order listing, etc).
Hope that helps.
I have a custom SSRS report that starts at order category, drills in to appeal and source name, then individual order. It displays number of orders in each category/appeal/source and amt due. If that'd help I'm glad to share it.
We just switched to Sales Channel (from Order Category) for our subscription campaign because it now has a development component. The Package Order Listing report that I thought would work gives me no results.
Any help would be appreciated

Do you happen to have T-stats? We also use order category to segregate our subs orders. The order category is a criteria in the packages cube and you can very easily then save these people to a list if you need to. We were using a custom report for this information but I find T-stats much more user friendly. T-stats also has the subs summary status and type available as criteria.
Without T-stats, I believe that you would be able to use subs summary status and type by using list builder. Order category would require some customization.
Hope that helps!

P Please consider the environment before printing this email.
Has anyone found a solution to this? Seems very weird that we collect this information in an order but don't have any pre-box reports that will pull this information out.
Hi Allison,
The Order Category field is not designed for any standard reporting, so it doesn't appear on many or any reports, but it is available in the Seats and Tickets cube of Analytics if you do want to report on it. It's also available for custom reporting if that's an option.
Its standard intended use is searching for orders and performing bulk maintenance operations like subscription seating, ticket printing, and rollovers. It is searchable in Order Search and is a filter on several utilities like Batch Ticketing Printing. A common use of Order Category is "Special Handling" or a similar flag that would exempt it from operations like bulk ticket printing.
So I build a report in Analytics (which unfortunately can't give me number of tickets and the money associated because that is two different data sources here). However, when updating the original order, the widget does not update. Is the category frozen based on the first save of an order? We are using order category to track if a subscription purchase is new, renew, or returning lapsed buyer. When buying online, these accounts don't receive a category. And when I manual adjust it, it is not reflected on the Analytics. Ultimately, I just want a report that says how many accounts and revenue is new, renew, and lapsed. I really want to be able to review accounts, so that I could find the accounts without a categorization. Can the Order Category not be used for this purpose?
Analytics updates nightly, so you wouldn't see the update until the next morning.
I will say I vaguely remember that financials don't update here instantaneously. I am now guessing that it is the same with all data. So there is no way to get an accurate report by day because I have to wait for Analytics to catch up every day, don't I?
Yep. Data in analytics won't update until the next day.
Man, it's really disappointing to not have the option to have reports based on current conditions. Oh well. Back to Excel spreadsheets.
I'm pretty certain order category is a list criteria if that's at all helpful.
Yes, if you aren't using the order category for anything else, this is a fine use for it. The Seats and Tickets cube contains Order Category, Ticket Count, and Ticket Amount Paid, so hopefully you can access all of them together. See the screenshot I've included from a sample system. As Michelle has noted, Analytics refreshes nightly.
When you say, "I really want to be able to review accounts, so that I could find the accounts without a categorization" -- The best way to do this is an Order Search, if you aren't doing that already. Set the Product to the package you're reviewing, or set the Performance Dates to a range encompassing all the performances. Set the Mode of Sale selector to your Subscription Mode(s) of Sale. Ensure that the Order Date range encompasses your renewal period. When you run the search, the Order Category is shown on the results page, and you can sort to bring all the empty values to the top. From there you can open each one, set the category, and save.
Don't know if this is still helpful, but Order Category is a parameter in the Order Export Utility
