Price scaling/zone changes and roll over?

We are going to rescale the price zones in our concert hall and I'm wondering if this will cause any problems with subscription roll over and if there might be any other problems I may not be thinking of.  Have any of you experienced this and conquered the task successfully?  Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

  • Thanks so much!  I was thinking I'd have to use new zone maps as they're pretty significant changes.  It makes me feel better to hear that you had no issues.

    Thanks again,

  • I wonder, did you have subscribers with different price zones on their order after your changes (seats were in the same zone until the changes occured)?  How did you handle these situations if so?

  • We did the same thing years ago as well and didn't have any issues (except for the angry patrons whose seat price went up).

Using a different zone map than you have in the previous season shouldn't cause any problems with your rollover.
We have changed scaling a number of times an have never experienced any problems as the result of using a new/different zone map than the previous season.

  •   Technically they were all in a "different" zone, because we left the original zone map alone and created an entirely new map so that historical data would be preserved.

As for those patrons that ended up in a higher priced zone than before, we made sure to hold back the better seating in the lower prices so that if they wanted to move to a zone that more closely related to what they were paying previously we could move them.   What we found was that the majority were upset by the change, but not so upset that they wanted to give up their good locations.

  • Thank you all for your help and advice.
