I'm wondering if anyone has customized N-Scan to allow for a different scan sound if a ticket was scanned that belonged in a specific section?
We have a new seating area this year that we want to acknowledge the patrons sitting in that section and find that the section description is not enough for our ushers as it requires them to actually look at the scanner rather than hearing the appropriate sound.
Here are $0.02 of thought
We have modified the sounds on the device. The sounds are stored on the unit as sound files. (I don’t have a unit in front of me right now so I don’t know the name type and location at the moment.)
The harder part of what you describe will be to know when you want to play the different sound. A hack way about this might be to give each person for whom you want the special notification a CSI. There is a way to have the system do a special interaction for those folks. That may also drive a different sound.

Tom, we are introducing Android scanners this Comic Con weekend. And the well loved laser.wav sound from the old scanners is missing. I found .wav file and having difficulty locating an appropriate directory to copy it to on an Android phone. Do you happen to remember?
Thanks a bunch,
Sabina
See you in San Diego!
