I’m interested to know if anyone has figured out a good solution for batch printing season tickets, when there are add-ons in separate orders (with a different MOS) that you want to include in the season ticket package.
Here’s some background on my issue. Our practice is to put all additional tickets on the same order as season tickets. The only exception to this process is that when subscribers go online and buy, new orders are created in a specific and different MOS than their season ticket orders – for simplicity, let’s say season tickets = subscription MOS, online add ons = sub add MOS.
Patrons have been February and July to add on extra concerts online. Our ideal scenario would be to print all the tickets a subscriber has bought, from any order, and package them together during this mass print. We used to do this using the 'only cut between orders' which printed all tickets in a string connected to a header, despite there being multiple orders, through some sorting magic.
As it turns out, there used to be a bug that would allow for this, but with the last upgrade the bug was fixed and the ‘only cut between orders’ function now does what it's supposed to. Now, the tickets will actually be cut between orders, meaning that if we use our old strategy, we’d end up with multiple strings of tickets with no headers attached, which doesn't really work.
The solution I thought of would be to only print the orders in Subscription MOS for the mass mailing, and print anything in sub add MOS separately. If there's any simple way to avoid this, I'd really rather everything a subscriber buys go out in one envelope. Does anyone do things differently and have any advice for us?
Thanks for reading!
They fixed that? NO! We use that trick all the time. I wonder if we can start a grass roots movement to get it back.
I know! I was sadly surprised when they told me it was working wrong before and is now working correctly... since it's now very wrong for me. :(
