Waiting lists

Hi all,

I'm looking for some specific information on how you handle waiting lists.  Keeping  the list is not really the question - I know you can either do the unpaid order route or use an excel spreadsheet - what I'm really looking for is how you go about contacting the patrons.  Do you call and leave a message if they don't answer?  How long do you hold their place in line before moving on to the next person?

Any guidance would be most appreciated!  Thanks.

  • With our Academy class waiting lists (which we do using unpaid unseated orders, by the way) a spot opens up so infrequently that we don’t really have a set procedure for calling those who are accepted off them. Typically I (or one of our other registrars) will continuously keep an eye out for openings on our enrollment report, and call people off the waitlist when we see them. We always leave messages, and usually I’ll wait a day or so (depending on how much time we have until the start date) to give away that spot to the next person.

    Hope that helps!
