GIFT CERTIFICATE BATCH PRINTING

Hello,

Over the holidays we had some issues with patrons not receiving gift certificates purchased over the web. We noticed that this was due to the fact that the gift certificates were not printing out in our web batch prints. Currently, we have our gift certificates setup without an order line item. Instead, we handle gift certificates through a gift certificate payment method.

How do other organizations setup their gift certificates in Tessitura? Does anyone use a line item method? Does anyone know a way to have non-line-item gift certificates that are strictly handled with payment methods only print out with web batch prints?

Thanks for the help!

  • Thank you, Shelley! This has been our method in the past – but it’s not always as fool proof as we’d like. Thanks for the input!

We had the same thing. The only way I know of web gc purchases is by viewing the online confirmation emails that are copied to me.  Then I manually open that order and print ‘All’ receipts.  Our volume is small enough to handle this way.  But I’d love to know of a more foolproof manner as well.

  • You may try having a CSI generated when a gift certificate is ordered. In the past that has worked for me assuming you have someone making sure to check regularly and resolve the CSI's after they've been printed.

  • We've created a custom report that is scheduled and runs over night that shows all GC's purchased in a ticket order that does not contain any tickets.  Since these don't get picked up by our normal batch printing process, we needed a way to find all of these.  The box office lead hand on duty goes through the list each morning and prints them all for mailing.
