Wristband Scannable Tickets

Hi gang,

We are wondering whether Tessitura has the ability to create a ticket design that can be printed on a wristband with a scannable N-Scan barcode, and a BOCA printer that would then print those wristbands?

Or, is there a way to extract the barcode data from the Tessitura orders and send it to an external wristband printing company, and would those wristbands still be scannable by N-Scan?

Any ideas around a wristband style ticket solution would be most welcome. We'd like to manage the flow and number of people inside a venue at any given time during the event (up to 10,000 tickets per night sold, so there's a lot to manage) and having these would mean their 'passout' is already on them and it would be faster than them having to scrounge for their ticket to allow a scanned passout.

Many thanks!

  • You can extract the ticket number and the NScan number out of the data base and you could send it to a company to print them for you; we do this yearly for Cirque du Soleil when it comes to the Hall. We give them an allocation of tickets and also send them the bar code numbers which they import into their system and put on their tickets.(There's a mini magic here that has an example of the report we have http://www.tessituranetwork.com/network/Conference/Conference%20Materials%20Archive/2012%20Conference%20Materials.aspx)

We also did it for the a VIP performance at the Hall, and the Promoter was sent the barcode numbers, which they had printed on to invites as barcodes. We did a lot of testing with them to ensure they had the barcodes in the correct format before they sent them off to be fully printed.

It is a lot of work and we only do it for select events here as it has the potential to go very wrong, and you need to think about how you deal with reprints etc.

Feel free to contact me if you want any more information.
