Mobile Ticket Printer

Hello!

We are looking into purchasing a new ticket printer strictly for mobile ticket printing. We are looking for something lightweight and somewhat weather resistant. We are going to start selling tickets in our student commons about a 5 minute walk from the box office. We would also like to start setting up a table outside for performances on our green next door.

Has anyone purchased anything like this recently?

I could have sworn that Boca had a mobile ticket printer at their conference booth this year but couldn't find anything online. They suggested the Lemur-S (http://www.bocasystems.com/lemur.html). Apparently most of their printers are made of plastic now.

Does anyone have this specific printer? Would it be easy to carry around?

  • Hi Jessie,

We have the Lemur 200 DPI which is light weight and easy to take since we have performances in two different cities.  The one issue I have had with this printer is that it is wi-fi enabled so sometimes it has difficulties connecting to our laptops.  We have tried connecting the printer with a USB cable and then sharing that printer with other laptops but at the last performance it would only print for the laptop it was directly connected to.  When this printer was purchased, it was decided to not pay the extra $300 or so to have it cut the tickets for you.  I would highly recommend you pay the little bit extra so you don't have to tear every ticket. :)  Hope this helps!

  • Hi Jennifer!!

When I was setting up the quote with Boca they asked if I wanted to set it up with wi-fi. I didn't think that was something we really needed and we would just use the USB. Our ticket printers in the box office don't cut the tickets. We do have trouble sometimes with the students pulling too hard and then we have to waste a ticket resetting it. That is a good call on adding that.

Follow up question: On your model do the tickets live inside the printer or do they come out the back? I think they are pretty much the same printers except with the Lemur-C the tickets live inside which may make it easier to move around.

    Thank you for your help!!
