Is there a shortcut to add a new order to an existing constituent's current order? We create a new order when someone exchanges tickets and it's a bit clumsy to copy the const ID, exit the current order and paste the const ID for a new order.
Thanks – what I’m looking for is “Add Ticket Order”, but I don’t see the icon on the power bar.

Hi Ellen,
When you say you want to add an order to a current order do I understand you want to add a new performance to an existing order? If so, the answer is yes. You can go back to old orders and edit them even to the point of adding and taking away performances and tickets. This means you could easily exchange tickets in the existing order, but it sounds like you have a business rule for making a new order for exchanges. I like this rule and we use it, too.
If you are just looking for an alternate method of getting the constituent ID number assigned to the order there are options, but I will let you decide if they are any less clumsy than copy and paste.
If you have a constituent record open there is an "Add Ticket Order" command on the Constituent menu. This command is also on the power bar and has an icon of orange tickets with a green plus sign.
If you have recently viewed the person's constituent record but then closed it and you are now back to the order entry screen you can open the constituent search screen from the order by clicking the chicklet (or CTRL+T) and then instead of searching for the same person again go up to the Constituent menu where you will find a list of constituent records you have recently viewed. Click on their name and they will be assigned to the order.
You should be able to complete the sale without having to search for the constituent multiple times.
There aren't very many reasons to look up the old order during an exchange. You can begin with a new order assigned to the constituent and probably complete everything you need to do there. You can return the old tickets by ticket number, or you can add a line item for the old performance, go to the seat map, find the existing tickets--they will stand out because they are colored orange--return them, add a new line item for the new performance and then using the line item for the freshly returned seats as reference you can see the price type and seat location and use that as a guide for assigning the new seats.
There are often many ways to accomplish the same task in Tessitura. It's hard to say if one is better than another. Just try to find the method that best suits the rhythm of how you work. Good luck.

The Add Ticket Order should appear somewhere in the middle. It is only visible when a constituent record is open. It can also be accessed through the Constituents menu.
