Hello,
We are trying to print just the ticket headers for a list of customers through batch printing. Its not working without having to select performances or packages. We just want the headers to spit out, not the tickets. Any ideas as to how to make this work?
Thanks!
Yes, you’re right. We don’t use the official Batch Print module. I just click on the Order chicklet in a Ticket Order screen and enter criteria for the tickets I want to print. When you select the Perf Code or Perf Date range it will pull up all available orders. That’s how I print Will Call for a show.

Shelley, are you sure this wasn't just in the regular ticket orders screen, for a single order? The batch print function shouldn't work that way.
Batch print specifically sweeps for performances with printable tickets, so it's not possible to do a batch print of headers to my knowledge. But this has come up in my organization before as well, so I do think it could be a worthwhile enhancement request.
If you are trying to print headers to go into windowed mailing envelopes, the "built-in" way of accomplishing this would be to use the "User Defined Format from a List" to print addresses directly on to non-windowed envelopes. But you might have a different need.

I did this by accident once. If you turn off the ‘Printing’ checkbox for an MOS of a certain performance then the tickets won’t print but the headers will. Perhaps my mistake is the solution to your question.

Hi Amy! We are trying to do this exact thing and I am wondering if you figured out how to print just the headers??
Thanks,
Kaitlyn

Hi Shelley! I can see how printing will calls from the order chicklet would work. Can you tell me what you mean by turning off the printing for an MOS of a certain performance??
Oh wow, I don't think I realized that function existed! That's really useful, because you can print entire orders filtered by performance, instead of only tickets for specified performances.
Kaitlyn, what you would do is go to the MOS tab for the performance in ticketing setup. Each MOS row has a Seating and Printing checkbox. Unchecking Printing for all MOS will make it impossible to print tickets for that performance.
But beware; if the orders contain any other performances where printing is checked, doing a continuous print at the order search screen will cause those other performances to be printed (you may also get some receipts). The safest way to get only headers would be to keep the "continuous" checkbox cleared, shift-select your orders, and then clicking print will display the print window for each order one by one. Then you can use keyboard shortcuts t and r to clear the tickets and receipts (if any), so you only get a header for each order print.
That means the only repetitive action you'll have to do for each header is striking t - r - enter on the keyboard. Not a bad solution given some of the alternatives!
P.S. This is why I love reading these forums -- I never know when I'll learn something new!
This is definitely a step in the right direction! Thank you!
We managed to print only headers for one our events! It was great!
