This is my first time doing a big ticket build on V12. Is there anyway to delete a price layer after it's been applied? I made an error in Season Maintenance, and applied the wrong price layer to a couple of performances.
I would rather not delete the Performance and start again. Any tips?
Hi Nicholas,
It is possible to delete a price layer as long as you haven't sold anything on it (ie. it's not associated with any sub-line items). Once you're on the layer, you right click on the list of price types and you have the "Delete Layer" option.
We've had fun with this on occasion when we've discovered that we needed to delete the layer in the middle of set up for some reason or another but had already completed a test purchase on it so had to disable all the price types on all the zones of that layer.
Good luck!B
Hi, Brooke,
I know it's been a few years now, but we've just run into a similar problem.
We set up what were essentially overflow seats for a performance that was otherwise sold out--just a row of 12 chairs in the back of the studio theatre. These seats also promptly sold out.
There's no way to delete this price layer with transactions associated with it, as far as I can tell.
The problem is that the custom report we use for our marketing side (which was built for us by our Tess gurus) only pulls from price layers within the Single Tickets 1 tab and not the Tickets 1 tab, which is what these overflow seats were assigned to.
How do we go about disabling the price types on the zones of that layer like you suggested?
Josh,
Right click on the layer you need to disable and choose select all to highlight all zones and price types, then right click again and select Disable.
Michele
Thanks, Michelle.
Do you know how we would go about applying the new price layer to those seats? We're getting an error message:
"Seat reservation failed: Price type is not valid for the selected zone."
Josh
Do you still have one active price layer? You'll need to have that in order to reserve seats.
Yes, we have Ticket Price 1 active. Single Ticket Price 1 is disabled.
We're trying now to assign the Ticket Price 1 price layer to these seats.
If it's on the performance and not fully disabled, then I'm not sure why you are receiving that message. Perhaps the zone you are trying to reserve is not enabled?
We've been poking around in the test environment...the zone's enabled (we even built a new zone as a test), but we're still getting the same message.
I'd maybe open a support ticket at this point. I'm not quite understanding without seeing what you are doing.
