GA Sections in a reserved facility

Hi everyone:

I've scoured the forums and found a few posts on combining GA and Reserved sections in one facility that date back about four years. We would like to offer for example the first four rows of a facility as reserved and the remainder as GA.

Has anyone accomplished this with any success? Is this possible on TNEW? For example, the Reserved sections have row and seat numbers and the GA sections are labeled GA without seat numbers?

Would love to hear from anyone who's had experience with this.

Thanks!!

  • We don't but I don't see why you can't redefine the seat numbers in facility manager map painter using letters instead of numbers. Then create a unique price zone and price map for your GA section and attach a different price type so it is clear to customers.

I've also put in some text in the purchase instructions content on our test site, attached, this might be an option for you.

  • Thanks Kevin.  Great solution!!

I also spoke to the TNEW folks and they can make an adjustment in TNEW that when the GA section is clicked actually brings up the GA purchase path.  I'll test your option and see how it goes for us.

    Thanks again!

  • Hi Michelle,

I came across this thread because we have the same setup for our outdoor concert venue (covered reserved seating, and lawn GA seating). Last year we had the map and purchase path set up correctly, but we had seat numbers printing on all the GA tickets. I'm trying to alleviate that for this year. Is this something you were able to work out with your ticket designs? The only thing I'm worried about is online sales, and how to force it into a different price type (and therefore different ticket design) for the GA sales.

I'd appreciate any feedback on how you all worked that out! Thanks, and feel free to reach out to me directly if you'd like (my contact info is on my profile).
