Package Sales

Hi all -

I am running into a little difficulty determining exactly how much money we made in subscription sales.  Because exchanged tickets are no longer counted as package seats, the Package Sales Report $ amount is incorrect.  Our marketing director is looking for the amount we sold for the 2009 season and I can't seem to find that number!

I also looked at the Package Exchange report and even when you add that number to our Package Sales report $ amount we are off by $30k from what I have determined the amount to be by tracking sales by price type.

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated!

Hi Beth!  I feel like this is the eternal question!

I have had tons of luck using T-stats for my subscription reporting in the packages cube.  The data in the packages cube is not affected by exchanges.

I actually presented on it at the conference, so if you happen to have T-stats here is a link to the presentation which as my recipe for this report  in it:

    http://www.tessituranetwork.com/network/Conference/Conference%20Schedule/~/media/Conference%20documents/2009%20Materials/Presentations/5-C%20Decision%20Making%20Using%20T-Stats.ashx

I would be happy to elaborate if you have T-stats and would like to hear more!

I also know that others get around this problem with custom reporting and by looking at other reports besides the package sales report but it depends on exactly how you want the data broken out.

    Good Luck!

  • Thanks for getting back to me!  Unfortunately at this time we do not have T-Stats, but hope that we will be getting it next year!

I’ll check around for some custom reports to help us in the meantime.

    Thanks again for the help!

  • Assuming all the price types used for your subscriptions have "subscription" set as the price type category, you should be able to use Perf Sales Summary by PT Category. The "package" column in that report is actually the Subscription price type category, not just package seats. So that'd cover anything exchanged or not.
