Hello, from the Smithsonian Institution’s Cooper Hewitt! We are thrilled to be new members of the Tessitura community.
We need to finalize our hardware specifications for a visitor experience desk POS system. The desk is custom and our fabricators need the specs to finalize their shop drawings. We will be using a touch interface, and so we have already identified the SONY VAIO 21 Tap for an integrated CPU and touchscreen. We would also like to add to add a standard keyboard, a standalone “wedge” (From the Tessitura website, we understand that Magtek is a good source for the wedge), a cash drawer, a Boca ticket printer with a separate receipt printer.
Has anyone recently gone through the process of purchasing the full array of hardware required for a POS workstation, and would you have any suggestions for these purchases.

We could also use some guidance on POS hardware here at the Met Museum. Particularly, what brand/model of cash drawers are supported. Anyone have any thoughts?
