Hi,
We're looking into getting scanners for Print at Home tickets and wanted to know what other venues are using?
We've looked into the MC55 and MC75 as suggested by Tessitura but are also interested into looking into using ipods, and would be grateful for any advice from venues already using them.
Thank you,
Maisie Buchan
Here are my $0.02.
We use a mix of MC 50s (No longer Available) and MC 55s.
Our ushers preferred the older smaller MC 50s. (Slightly smaller than MC 55s, and slightly louder sound audible sounds when the entry hall is full.)
As a result of the above we have added trigger handles to the MC55s and Changed the Audio files to make them a bit louder.
At this time ipods do not work with the N-Scan Software. Talk to the Network staff about other devices like android. My understanding is that something is on the way.

We are using the MC75's at the moment. We have had them since 2008. We bought them as we were able to put triggers on to them and I think they had longer battery life (but I may be wrong on that), which we needed.

We have the MC55s. They've been pretty durable. I think we've bought new batteries for them every 2 years, and we did have one or two fail over the past...5 years, I think.
IIRC, only the new NScan supports Android, and it's still only on specific Motorola (Google? Lenovo?) hardware. As Tom said, the Network (Hi Tami!) could give you better info, but I believe broader Android/iOS is planned, but not there yet.
