Print at Home usage estimates?

Hi there,

I'm looking into what it would take to offer print at home ticketing. We don't have scanners yet, so that's the first step and it's an expensive one. I'm hoping to present some financial benefits along with all the big price tags on this project. Does anyone currently using print at home ticketing have a rough estimate of what percentage of tickets are printed at home vs. printed in house? Even more specifically it would be interesting to know the breakdown of print at home, will call, and mail, since that would help us estimate the likely savings not only in ticketing printing, but also in postage and mailing supplies.

Any info you can share would be helpful. Thanks!

Allison

I love T-stats! Here is a screenshot from our current Fiscal year. We have a ton of last minute orders.

  • We also saw a huge increase in patrons using PAH.  Our HABO lines have gone from crazy to ho-hum.  That said, there are a couple of things to beware of:  we don't charge a fee for PAH, so people show up at the box office expecting tickets.  When we tell them they ordered PAH, they look confused and don't remember asking for (or clicking on) it.  NScan can't read lightly-printed printouts, and, though NScan can read the pdf ticket from a mobile device, it has trouble with some cell phones, even when enlarged.  Bottom line:  go for it!

Ellen thanks for the tips on PAH issues. Good things for us to keep in mind when we do eventually implement it. These issues definitely sound worth the benefits of having PAHT once we have the scanners.

Nicole, thanks for the numbers! I don't know if this is your first year, but do you have stats comparing the year before you started to and your first year of PAHT?

    Thanks for your help,

    Allison
