Hi all,
I am new to Tessitura and was hoping you can share with me any insights you have into printing permanent membership cards onsite at the box office. In my ideal scenario, visitors that purchase memberships onsite would walk away from the box office/membership desks with their permanent plastic membership cards.
1. Visitor walks up to desk and purchases membership. Box office staff creates record and processes membership transaction in Tessitura
2. Box office staff reads back out contact info to visitor
3. Box office staff prints bar coded membership card and hands to new member with receipt
Does anyone out there provided this type of service and do you have any workflow recommendations? What is the avg transaction time? etc. thank you so much!
Hi Susie,
At my former organization we use to print out plastic "membership" cards using an Evolis card printer, and though it wasn't too long of a process there are a few steps to it which might cause a longer than desired delay at times. When I was doing it I believe it involved either exporting data from Tessitura (depends on what all you need), or entering in data by hand to an outside file. That file was then used by the card readers software to print the card.So it kind of depends on how fast you can make that process, hoping that there are no glitches when doing it (which were not uncommon). I think it was a really cool idea, and the cards look great! I'd just say to be aware that the process of printing a card might not always be customer friendly for a patron waiting. Have a backup plan.
Hope that information is useful.
