Selling Parking - What's your experience?

Hi everyone:

We're getting ready to implement parking. I wanted to ask any of you that have experience with this what you found works best for cut off times with respect to the capability going offline on TNEW, etc so patrons actually have time to get their vouchers.

We're trying to implement where vouchers would be printed and mailed as well as available online for PAH but we're struggling with best practice on cut off times.

Any wisdom and experience you can share would be most appreciated!!

Thank you,

Michelle Wiesel

  • We don't operate our own parking facilities, so we're really restricted as the requirements of that operation are.

At the moment we do not allow parking passes to be sold on line or printed at home.  There's too many template requirements from our parking people to do so. Also, we don't have scanners in the garage to ward off duplicate Print At Home vouchers. Not to mention that same garage is utilized by other resident companies and we're all on different ticketing system - scanning would be a nightmare down there in the garage.

We stop taking in parking reservations for single ticket sales two weeks in advance of any given performance. This way we can have enough time to mail the boca ticket to our patron.

  • We don't operate our own car parking, but the cut off time for us is 4.30pm on the day of the performance, with the Car Park available to customers from 6pm. We then email over a seating book with the list of customers to the car park for reference. At present we print vouchers and send to the customers, if there is enough time allowing. If they book on the days leading up to the even then their voucher is HABO and they are messaged to collect from the Box Office, this works for us as the customer has to present the voucher when leaving the car park to prove they have paid.

At present we do not offer PAH, as we do not operate the car park ourselves, and have no way of validating PAH tickets at the facility.
