PAH Examples

Hi everyone:

We are working toward PAH implementation very soon and I've been reading all the wonderful comments and advice with great interest!!

I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to share an example(s) of their PDF ticket?  We're trying to wrap our heads around layout, etc.  Also if anyone has come across any specific advice I should give marketing with respect to the design, I have seen that we need to limit colors, image and graphic sizes, etc I would be grateful.

Thanks much!

  • Michelle -

A few things to keep in mind when designing your PAH template... and this comes from patron feedback, staff feedback, etc:

    • KEEP THE COLOR GRAPHICS TO A MINIMUM.  We've been told by our patrons that they don't like to waste their ink... so the lest color graphics you have with minimal ink waste will be the best design to satisfy the growing number of patrons who want to go "Green".
    • If your business logic supports it,  CREATE A STANDARD TEMPLATE, AND A FEW SPECIALIZED TEMPLATES.  The specialized templates allow for a slightly different design to be used for things like, "potential seat obstruction" or a VIP ticket that allows for a special gift pick up, etc.  This helps the patron to understand what type of ticket they have, and any possible special instructions can be printed on it.  It helps staff to quickly identify the type of ticket it is for any special occasion.
    • Your PAH should have double entry information for the sole purpose of scanner back up.  If the scanners go down, then the bottom part of your PAH can be torn by ushers, and the information still retained just like a normal ticket stub.
    • LEAVE ROOM FOR ADVERTISEMENTS.  Great way to generate cash on the print at home tickets... this means the design will need to change every so often.
  • Hey Michelle,

We have had PAHT for a few months now, and we would strongly recommend these things.

    • Create all designs in Greyscale, so different printers don't do crazy things with colours (especially if your logo is colour).
    • Agree with Skypp on the double entry information. We have info and barcodes repeated at the bottom of each PAH ticket.
    • Use QR codes to link to info on your website or display your venue location in Google Map

I'll email you an example of our ticket too.

    Warm Regards,

    Beau.
