Setting up group tours

Hello everyone,

This message is targeted towards museums specifically or any organization that does group tours at their facility. We are in the process of setting up school and adult group tours for our museum in Tessitura and I'm soliciting for any Tessitura Magic any of you have devised on how to track these tours. We generally start our tours every 15 minutes and I really don't want to create that many events in Tessitura for every day. We also need to track the actual start time of the tour as well as docent assignment.

Any thoughts, help, magic wands any of you have to help us figure this out would be awesome.

Chris

No magic for the Science Museum. We set up a single performance with a zone for each time interval So we have a performance with up to 48 zones. It enables us to limit capacity, ticket for specific times and report sales and attendance for each time. We don’t tie a docent to the times, so we can’t advise there.

We have backstage tours here and we use the same approach that Ray has outlined. We have a lot of building work at the moment so we don't always know which tours will go ahead so we have 'back up' slots in case we need to shift the time slightly. Fun!
