Do subscription prices need to be evenly divisible?

Hello,

We are about to start converting from Paciolan to Tessitura. I'm building our new season in Paciolan but I'm trying to make sure I build it in a way that will fit for Tessitura.

Do subscription prices need to be evenly divisible by the number of events in the subscription. In Paciolan if a subscription has 6 events in it, I need to make sure the price is divisible (to two decimal places) by 6.

My marketing department is pushing for some prices which are not divisible, and I can create a workaround for this in Paciolan but wondered if it's going to cause me issues when building in Tessitura?

Thanks,

Alan

The short answer is yes, your subscription prices need to be evenly divisible by the number of performances, as the subscription price in Tessitura is not imposed from the package downwards, but is the sum of the cost of the subscription price type in all performances making up the package.

However, the price does not have to be absolutely even across all performances in the package, as long as the sum of the prices is the cost of the subscription. If you have prices that don’t divide by 6, a common workaround is to have one performance be the repository of the extra pennies, and simply have that one show have a subscription price that is marginally different from the others.

  • Hello,

Great - Paciolan doesn't allow you to weight each event differently within a subscription, so I'm looking at having to assign slightly different handling charges based on the section and price type. I'd imagine I might be able to resolve this in Tessitura when we data map the transition.

    Thanks,

    Alan
