Good afternoon Tessiturians!
As I'm sure many of you know, Discover transactions are now being lumped in with VISA/MC transactions. As a result, our Accounting Team has asked us to change the GLs on our Discover Payment Methods to point to the same GLs that our VISA/MC payment methods use.
My question is this... is there any reason not to change the GL on the existing Payment Method? Or should I go to the trouble of creating an all new Payment Method to replace the ones currently in use?

I'd be more likely to just update the GLs on the existing payment method(s). The only thing I would keep in mind is that if you unpost and then re-post any old batches, you will get the new GL codes instead of the originals. This might cause some confusion for finance.
