Locking Performances at Client

We want to sell performances to only a specific Constituency type.

Can anyone suggest a way to lock performances at the client (Window MOS) level to be sold only to a specific type of patron?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you,

Tatiana

  • hi Tatiana,

Have you tried creating an offer and promoting source codes to the constituents in question?

If all price types are made as an offer for the performance, the user will be forced to put the source code that is attached to the constituent before he/she can select a price type.  If it is attached to a promoted source, the user shouldn't be able to just type it in the source box as can be done with an "outside" source number.

    Cheers,

    Kevin

  • Thank you Kevin.  That may work.  I'll talk to my team about it.

    thanks again,

  • Hi Tatiana,

In my experience it is possible to type in a source number even if the constituent has not been promoted to that source. Inside sources will automatically show up for constituents that it has been promoted to but it doesn't restrict constituents that aren't included in that promotion. If the employee entering the order knows the source number they can use it.

We don't currently have this in place here but have you checked out constituent ranking? I don't know a lot about it but I feel like this might be the solution you're looking for.

  • To do this through your website I think you'd have to get your web agency to put some rules in to your site (it looks like your website is managed through Pop?).

We have a number of different price types on all of our events (Patrons / Members / Full Price etc).  Anyone can see all of these prices in the normal set up of Tessitura based on the MOS that they're in and which price types are linked to that MOS.

I agree with the previous post, entering a source code will allow anyone to access the new MOS and won't prevent people from buying if they find out the code, its a solution if you don't think the code could get out in to the internet but does not completely solve your issue.

We use Made Media here in the UK as our web agency, they built us some rules in to our website so that our modes of sale link to our constituencies, and therefore when we add a certain Mode of Sale that means only those constituents have access to that price (we end up with a lot of Modes of Sale on each event, but it works for us).

    Hope this helps,
    James

  • Thank you Beth,

Yes, We're going to go with Constituent Rankings and Allocations in Facilities.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

  • Thank you for your response James.  We're looking to lock them at the client level.  These performances will not be available for sale via Web.

    Thanks again,

    Tatiana
