NScan and mobile devices

We allow customers to use print at home tickets on their mobile devices in lieu of a printed ticket.  We frequently have trouble scanning on IPhones.  Does anyone else have this problem?  And have you been able to resolve this problem?

  • Hi Ellen,

We have always had some difficulty scanning PDFs designed for printing, from mobile devices like iPhones. Anecdotally, more modern devices with higher resolution screens have better results.

Our current policy is that we do not advertise the ability to scan tickets from phones, but in practice we let our ushers try and scan them if presented. If they do not scan, the usher will try and type in the ticket number into the NScan software. If that doesn't work for whatever reason (usually user error from reading the small screen), they are sent back to the box office to have their tickets re-printed.

    Hope that helps.
