Using Tessitura for Restaurant bookings

Hi,

Does anyone currently use Tessitura for Restaurant bookings - not just reserving a table, but selecting dishes from the menu, wines etc.? We have a set menu price, with a number of dishes that have supplements to add on.

Thanks,
Vanessa

    Hi Monica!

We also use Tessitura to sell our restaurant. We do book individual tables and use service interceptors and web customization to kill seats if a table is reserved at less than the capacity. We have also used Best Seating so that a party of two will not sell at a larger table until after all of the smaller tables have sold for that time slot.

I’d be happy to talk to you about if you have questions.

    Nicole

    Hi Caryl,

Would love to talk to you about the way you have set up your facility for restaurant reservations.

We toying with the idea of using Tessitura for reservations in our restaurant and have some minor hurdles.

Do you have a strategy for flexibility for booking numbers but also prevents people from being able to be seated on a table that already has a booking (even if less than the full capacity of that table)?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Monica

    Hi Rob,

We have a restaurant facility with multiple zones for the sittings and then within those zones have the maximum capacity for each time slot set up (we can then hold off spaces as needed). We do have to set them up as performances in Tessitura, and as they are reservations only we don't take payments.

Am happy to send you some screen shots if you want to take a look at our set up or discuss it with you at the UK conference if you are attending.

    Caryl

  • I was curious if anyone would be willing share their scripts that kills extra seats.  I stepped into a situation at Lyric Opera where restaurant reservations are being reserved at tables, but the extra seats at a table don't get killed, which is leading to overbooking since the web just best seats the reservation, and I need to get a fix in fast.

    Thanks!
