Anyone using Tessitura for usher management?.

Hi,

I would be interested in talking to licensees who are using Tessitura for usher management.

We currently have an Access database that we handle this with, but we would like to make use of Tessitura.

Thanks, Richard Glass

  • Hi Richard -

There are several really good threads already on the forum boards about volunteer tracking. If you just search for 'Volunteer' in the search site it will pull up several threads that might be of use to you!

  • I know I’ve heard at least two presentations at conferences that touched on this topic. I would do a search on tessituranetwork.com. Searching for the word “usher” gives a few results that might help you. Here’s just one, from “Discussion Notes from Tools & Technology for Front of House Session at TLCC2012”:

    USHER MANAGEMENT

Use to manage your volunteers this engages them in using it further.

The Alliance Theatre uses Tessitura to schedule their ushers.

    ·         Set up a performance for each night.

    ·         Sell “tickets” to the house for attendance

    ·         Available on the web as a separate website for the ushers to access and book themselves in, this is linked to their account in Tessitura.

    ·         Reports can then be run on how many ushers are scheduled to work, using standard Tessitura reports.

    ·         Set up scanning so that you can track their attendance, time of arrival, time left etc.

    ·         Give ushers ranking so that certain ushers can access opening night performances etc.

  • Hi Richard,

When I was at McCarter Theatre Center we developed a volunteer management system that managed ushers and other voluntters.  There were custom screens in Tessitura to manage  the volunteers and schedules.  The system was also integrated with the website so volunteers could log and manage their schedules as well.    I did give a couple presentations on this back in 2010.

  • Hi Richard,

I'm not sure if you've figured this out yet, but we are using Tessitura to manage our volunteers. We haven't implemented any cutom screens like what Jon is referring to (though I'm now going to be looking into that) but we have gotten it to work with the base functions of Tessitura and I would be happy to give you details if you are still looking for information.

  • Hi Richard -

We have been using Tessitura for the last 10 years to manage our volunteers. I would be happy to chat with you about how we set it up and answer any questions you may have.

  • Hi Shana,

Richard is no longer with SCR but I would love to speak to you about volunteer management in Tessitura. Are you available some time next week for a call?

    Amber

  • Hi Amber -

Sorry, I just finally got back to this.  I am available this week and next. Let me know a time that is good for you!
