Access to ticket printers on Terminal server

Folks,

We are in consortium environment and access the Tessitura application by logging onto a terminal server.  We have a new terminal server in place (which is running Windows Server 2008 R2).

I can see that within the RDP session my printers have been brought across but when in the Tessitura session, the BOCA printers are not available from within the Preferences dialogue not from within the Print dialogue within Orders.  When running reports, I'm able to direct the output to a laser printer without any problem.

Is there any special trick that needs to be performed?  Perhaps a missing printer driver?

Any help would be very gratefully received!

    Hi Martin

I think UCSS may have to turn off the new "Easy Print" functionality in RDS 2008.

See Jeannie Devore's comment in this earlier thread..

    She says :

We did finally get this working, and I thought I’d tell how we did it, if ever anyone runs into the same situation.

Turns out the “generic / text only” driver that the Bocas use doesn’t play well with Terminal Services 2008’s “Easy Print” functionality, which in theory is supposed to eliminate the need for additional printer drivers.  Easy Print is enabled by default through Group Policies, so I had to go in and disable that.  Once I did, all my laptops could speak to my printers over the network and all has gone swimmingly since.

  • Ah!

Thanks for this Ken - I'd missed it when searching the site.  I've passed this on to the UCSS....

Getting excited about your trip yet?

    Martin
