We've always had this received knowledge that we can't put Visa/Electron cards through our Chip & Pin machines in our Box Office. The trouble is that I can't remember for the life of me what the reason was.
I know that our PSP (CommsXL) can process them but Tessitura comes up with declined or invalid payment method. Would this just be that the payment method hasn't been set up in Tess? I can't believe that we've not been able to use the cards for this reason alone!

Hi everyone
Theatre Royal, Plymouth has recently gone live with Tessitura and we are taking Visa/Electron cards through Chip&Pin.
However, we are receiving a number of complaints from customers being double charged. The payment goes through twice on Chip&Pin but only once in Tessitura.
We only know about it when we get a complaint!
I have been told to expect this occasionally and that there is nothing that can be done about it. However, we are averaging at least one a week - this seems a lot!
Do other users have this problem? If so how frequently does it happen and is there anything we can do to prevent it or monitor it before the customer is affected?
