N-Scan - issue scanning prior days tickets

We have a 32 hour "event" coming up and haven't been able to figure out how to scan tickets from a previous day.

The 32 hour event is actually four events covering a total of 32 consecutive hours.  For testing I was given a few tickets that weren't scanned from this past Tuesday and setup a scanner for that day's event or performance.  Everything seemed to be setup correctly but the ticket wouldn't scan.  I'd get the dreaded error message "Ticket for other performance."  The way things are setup is as follows:

I have a scanner with a hard-coded performance number in the Perf No field in Nscan on the scanner.  I have the scanner pointing to the live database (which is where it needs to be pointing as these tickets are from a real event three days ago).  None of this venues scanners are setup in the LTR_NSCAN_ENTRANCE table so I’ve done nothing there.  Also, there are no door open or close times set on this event.

I've attached some pictures in a zip file that might help.  This is a critical issue as they start their first event tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.  I believe it should have been as easy as what I'm doing on the scanner but for some reason it's not working.

  • Hi Jon,

I see that you don't have your doors open & close dates/times set. This could be causing your problems.

  • So with Tessitura's help we were able to get this working.  First of all in testing it helps if you enter the right performance number into the scanner for the test tickets you're trying out.  Once I did that and made sure the door open and close times were set appropriately it worked.  Duh.

Second, it seems like it worked all weekend without a hitch.  I say that because I haven't heard anything good or bad, and you know what they say - no news is good news.  8)

The museum has 9 scanners so what we did was setup 3 of them with the individual performance numbers (1 scanner with the first performance, another with the second, etc.) and tested them before everything began and it worked.  Just a little FYI.

  • Hi Michele.  Just to keep you posted we figured this out and ended up manually entering the performance numbers, unchecking the Params from Host checkbox, and extending the door times as needed.  This apparently worked as I received no news, good or bad, about the scanners.  Thanks again.

    Hi,

We are experiencing a similar problem and I wondered if you could let me know where the Params from Host checkbox lives?

I can't seem to see it anywhere in the NScan tables. Is this on the scanners themselves?

    Natasha

  • Yep, you guessed it.  It's on the scanners themselves.  To get there go into Setup > Admin Settings > System tab and you'll see it right above the Rebuild Database button.
