Cusomized Help

Has anyone created cusomized help files for their specific institution?  We would like to keep the standard Tessitura help files and then create a smaller help file for just Santa Fe issues.

  • I would recommend using the Help button already located in the Tessitura application.  You can add any kind of custom documentation specific to your organization and give these documents a searchable keyword for your organization name.  I've even known organizations to use the Help button creatively to add documentation outlining current offers and discounts, etc or even box office schedules.  You can add any kind of document you want the users to be able to access.  There is more details in the the Tessitura_Help_System documentation but here is some detail:

    Adding Local Documentation Links

    It is possible to add custom links to the Tessitura Help System that allow users to view documentation other than the documentation provided by the Tessitura Network, following the steps below.  This process includes adding the document filename to a table, linking that document reference to a keyword in the document, and testing.

     

    NOTE:  The custom documentation will appear along with Network provided documentation for the specified keyword.  To override Network provided documentation and display only the custom documentation, see Override Indicator.

    The location of custom documentation is determined by the HELP_DOCUMENT_CUSTOM_PATH entry in the T_DEFAULTS table.  The default value should be the directory location of the custom documentation, e.g. c:\Tessitura\Local Documentation\.

    If this entry is missing or blank, no default path will be used and the full filename for a document should be entered into TR_HELP_DOCUMENT_CUSTOM. 

     

    NOTE:  The HELP_DOCUMENT_CUSTOM_PATH can be overridden on an individual workstation basis by entering the HELP_DOCUMENT_CUSTOM_PATH entry in the [defaults] section of the local Tessitura ini file.
