Custom Field in Ackno Report Output

The standard Acknowledgment Letter includes Custom elements from the contribution (T_CONTRIBUTION.custom_# where # is a number between 0 and 9).  Most use these columns to provide additional custom elements tied to a pledge, pledge payment or contribution.  You might either look into copying this data there prior to output, or doing some sort of data merge after the ack letter run using output sets.

I am wondering how I might be able to add a custom field to the acknowledgement report outpput.  The field I need is housed in Cons Rec>Research>Notes> "enterprize tax zone credit".

Has anyone ever done this or know of a work a round that I might use?
