Weird ccard issue when doing advanced search

Hi everyone.  In Tessitura if I choose Advanced Search, set the drop down to Credit Card No, leave it as Equal to, enter a specific card number, and then search I get two constituents showing up that are not related in any way.  The credit card number does not belong to one of them.  When I look at this constituent's account I can see that he does have an Amex card that has the same first six numbers and the same last four numbers as the other constituents Amex card, but of course the numbers in between are different than the ones I entered in the advanced search field.  Any ideas why this may be happening?

  • I believe it is part of the v10 upgrade or one of the v10 patches.  We came across the same thing it’s expected behavior.  My understanding is that it’s all part of PCI compliance if I’m not mistaken.

  • Hi Teresa.  Thanks for the reply.  I'm not sure you understand the issue so maybe I wasn't clear in my original post.  It's not that I can't see the entire credit card number.  I don't care about that.  The issue is that when searching for this one specific card number it ends up finding two constituents in the search, one of whom does not have, use or own the card.  I'm trying to figure out why the search brings up that constituent.  Now he does have a card with the same 6 numbers at the beginning of the card number and the same 4 numbers at the end of the card number.

My guess is that due to PCI compliance and the card number being scrambled a bit, when doing this sort of search in Tessitura it only looks at those numbers that aren't scrambled - the ones at the beginning and the ones at the end.  The numbers in between are scrambled (encrypted) so those can't be compared.  Is this a possibility?  Does this idea even make sense?

  • Let's see if bumping works...
