MC-55 Scanner Configuration

At a different org, I had previously installed the MC50 which had a 4 cradle changing station that had a USB port used to transfer software.

NOw that I am at a different org, there is the newer model the MC55. From my understanding the charging station is only used for charging on the MC55 and you need to transferr the files thru the WiFi connection.

Can anyone confirm this or explain how their org handled?

Thanks,

Jason

    Jason –

The 4-station charging cradle is only for charging, and is not used (in fact it doesn’t have ports to allow it to be) to synchronize the devices. This is as true for the 50s as for the 55s. However, you should have (in addition to the charging cradles) a one-station synchronization cradle with a USB cable to connect to a PC. Using this and Windows Mobile Device Center (ActiveSync if you’re still on Windows XP) you can transfer the installation files via the USB connection. While it’s not impossible to do the transfer via WiFi or Bluetooth, these are not the recommended methods.

Please contact David Judd (djudd@tessituranetwork.com) if your new organization does not appear to have a synchronization cradle. This would have been standard equipment at installation, but if it has been lost or discarded it can be replaced.
