Is anyone using bar codes other than for ticket processing? It has been suggested that we use bar codes on the solicitations we send out and when they are returned, scan the bar codes when processing the returned form. If anyone has any experience they would like to share in regards to custom bar code usage, I would appreciate hearing from you.

We had a situation where we were partnered with another theater doing a Cirque du Soliel sow. we were selling tix to their show as part of our subscription package. The big catch was that we had to book all of our subscribers into their system (Ticketmaster I think) manually.
So we setup some dummy Cirque performances as part of our rollover and did it as normal. Then I created a custom report that had all of their sub seating info along with a barcode so that they could quickly get a list of people to process in their system once completed, scan the barcode into a text file. Nightly I imported that textfile back into SQL to mark the scanned seats as printed and thus "done". This also helped with our subscription printing because since the dummy performance tix were technically printed in Tessitura they didn't come out in the file export to send to the printer.
