SSRS Set UP

I think I missed a step in the SSRS Setup.  Everything seems fine and is working except I seem to be the only one able to run reports.

Other users under different user groups are getting an error: "The permissions granted to user 'ROUNDABOUT\user'slogin' are insufficient for performing the operation. (rsAccess Denied)"

I login as System Admin.

Thanks!

  • Dale are you referring to v11 trying to access a report through WebReports or a user trying to hit the SSRS service directly?

If the latter (direct to ReportServer), you may need to assign a Site role and an Item Level Role to the appropriate windows users/groups using the SSRS Report Manager (http://yourServer/Reports).  If you can login as Admin to Report Manager, you should see “Site Settings” at the top right, as well as “Folder Properties” from the home page.  Both areas need permission for users to be able to run reports.  Users running reports only need “Browser” rights at the folder level.

If reports are only being accessed through WebReports, users don’t need direct permission to the Report Server.  The WebReports application is configured with a domain user that accesses SSRS on a user’s behalf.

  • Thanks Ryan,

This was indeed the issue, I just hadn't set up any roles.  JD helped me out on Friday and I'm all set.
