SSRS - Deleted .rdl for deployed report before changes to it were backed up

Hello All,

Is there anyway to recreate an rdl file from the deployed report object?  On line it told me I can right click, select properties, edit and then download, but I guess that was on older versions only?

Thanks,

Sheila

  • Open the Report Manager in Internet Explorer, and you should be able to select Download from the dropdown menu on the report item

  • Are you on 2005 or 2008?  You can export the rdl from either version but 2008 looks a bit different.  With either version, after you download/save the rdl file, you can then open your Visual Studio project and choose Add Existing Item, then navigate to the saved rdl.
