Running Tessitura for the first time on a new laptop that has Windows 7 64 bit, I get an error "the specified ini file 'c:\windows\system32\tessie.ini' not found!"
I've copied the pbvm to the c:\
created a impresario client folder in the program files directory
added the c:\pbvm to the enviromental variables
copied the tessie.ini to the system32 folder
then copied the shortcut to the desktop where I ran it.
Is there something I'm missing? Is anyone else getting this or has fixed this?
Solution: putting the tessie.ini into the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory fixed it.

I got Tess working on a Windows 7 64 bits computer by copying the INI to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder, but having the shortcut still referring to C:\Windows\system32. I don’t know why but it was the only way I got it working.

I ended up putting the ini files the root of the C: Drive. Then in the shortcut you have to change the target path. If not it continues to try to go to the system32 folder.
Hi,
Yes C:\Windows\SysWOW64 location is the solution.
Better yet just completely customise the install and you'll save a lot of pain with UAC in Windows 7 and also not have x86 and x64 issues.
My Tessitura installations are now setup as follows:
C:\tessitura\<instancename>
Tessitura.ini goes here
C:\tessitura\<instancename>\impresario client\
Client files for instance.
In the Tessitura startup folder:
There is probably no reason you couldn't put the PBVM folder in the Tessitura folder. You'd need to update you Windows PATH variable and tessitura_start.bat
Cheers
