Hi, This is a fun one.Our development department wants to do a mailing that includes a fake ticket in the window of the envelope.
Is there a way to output demographic info for a list to a ticket in the absence of an order? If so, how do you do it???
Thanks,
Matt
Ah, creativity! I'm assuming your devo dept wants the customer's info on the ticket? B/c otherwise you could just build a test event, sell everything as a comp to one order, and then print it all.
Otherwise, I got nothin'... but I look forward to hearing what others suggest.
Hi Matt,
I haven’t tested this but in theory you could:
· Print your standard address label to a file, using a fake BOCA
· Open the file in Notepad and copy the data
· In Word create a mail merge adding your merge elements where the name and address details should be
· Merge from a list
· Print the text file to your BOCA
Good Luck!
Gary

Hi Gary,
Thanks for responding. Unfortunately I don’t feel like I am following what you’re saying. So, I take the file created in step one (which would be a .prn file, correct?), copy it, and paste it into a text file?
Then I merge the text file I just made into a Word merge. Then am I supposed to save the word merge results as a separate .prn file and try to print that through the Boca? Does that sound right? Sorry, I guess I haven’t had sufficient coffee today…
Best regards,
Matthew Hoyt

Its late in the day here so I may not be making too much sense. I have a print to file BOCA set up which I set to text, then I can open it in Notepad, change some data and print. So I think you have understood me, or I have got really confused…
