Moving Tessitura to New Server

Hello everyone!  We are retiring our 6-year old original Tessitura server as well as the other servers supporting Tessitura – cc, report, gateway, etc.  I see there is a doc on task (Moving/Restoring a v7.5 or later encrypted database) explaining how to move a database, but does anyone have additional doc or guidelines on how to move all the stuff?  Server names and IP addresses of new servers will all be new.

Thanks,

…Dave

  • I just went through this.  There was a session at TLCC 2010: Moving and Replacing Servers, that was helpful, along with the “Moving The Impresario Databases from Server to Server” document in documentation.  And Steven Bras also does a T-Cast on the subject that’s worth a listen.

The one tip Nancy Sheleheda gave me was to make sure you contact Intrix to get a new key for your new Transcend installation.

For what it’s worth, the very idea had me terrified, but once I got into it, it wasn’t too difficult at all, and because I did it in the middle of the night, there was no discernable downtime for users.

Feel free to contact me if you want more “war stories”.
